Controls
Heavy Bag plays in landscape. The right side of the screen is split by a translucent Line into a punch zone above and a kick zone below.
- Tap above the Line for a jab, below it for a cross.
- Swipe sideways above the Line for hooks, below it for roundhouse kicks.
- Swipe up or down anywhere for uppercuts.
- The Head / Body / Legs toggle on the left picks the target. Legs turns roundhouses into leg kicks.
- Keep your finger down and change direction to chain strikes without lifting.
The Line can be moved: open the gear menu during any level and choose Change Line Position, then drag it to where your thumb rests. The Controls entry in the same menu shows a full reference.
Timing
Cues light up on the diamond. Land the strike as the cue fires for a Perfect; a little early or late still counts as Good or Normal. Misses break your streak, and in Offline and online rounds they cost a heart.
Progress and devices
Career progress and stars sync through iCloud when you are signed into the same Apple ID on both devices. Your fighter, rating, and leaderboard place are tied to an anonymous identity kept in your keychain, which also syncs through iCloud Keychain. If a new device shows a fresh fighter, check that iCloud Keychain is on in iOS Settings, then relaunch the game.
Tokens and purchases
Token packs are in-app purchases handled by Apple. If a purchase completed but the tokens did not appear, force-quit and relaunch the game: any purchase Apple has recorded but the game has not yet credited is delivered on the next launch. If it still does not appear, email me with the receipt Apple sent you and I will sort it out. Purchases made with Ask to Buy are credited once the family organiser approves them.
Token packs are consumables, so there is nothing to restore; tokens already spent on cosmetics stay spent, and the cosmetics stay on your fighter. Refund requests go through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Online play
Sparring, Fight Night, Undisputed, and Call Outs need a connection. There is no pause in an online round: leaving through the gear menu is a tap out, and backgrounding the app for more than twenty seconds forfeits the match. If matchmaking can't find anyone in time, you may be matched against a ghost of a real player's earlier round.
To stop other players from calling you out, open the gear menu in Compete and turn on Block Call Outs. To report an offensive display name, use the report option on that player's row.
Your data
What the game stores and how to have it deleted is covered in the Heavy Bag privacy policy. Deletion requests are answered by email.
Beta testers
Heavy Bag is currently in TestFlight. Screenshots and a sentence or two on what happened are the most useful feedback. TestFlight's own Send Beta Feedback button attaches your device details automatically.
